Philipp Henkes started his apprenticeship in his native Germany when he was 16 years old.

His career with the Capella Hotel Group began in 2007 at the Schloss Velden Hotel, Austria, before he was promoted and transferred to the Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf. It was during his time in Düsseldorf that Philipp had the honour of doing an internship with the 2 Michelin Star Chef Johannes King from Sylt. He spent 4 years at this renowned hotel until his promotion to Capella Singapore where he took charge of The Knolls Mediterranean Restaurant and later the resort’s Banquet Kitchen.  

Philipp took up the role of Executive Chef with Lough Eske Castle in January 2014 and has since become very popular with guests and locals alike.

He has come along way since that shy 16 year old boy having appeared as Guest Chef at numerous eateries throughout Switzerland and Germany and we expect to see a lot more of him in the future.
