Jonathan Mc Crea is a multi award-winning broadcaster and founder of Whipsmart Media, a science event company.

He presents Futureproof on Newstalk 106-108, a weekly science programme that covers everything from robotics in war to “spidergoats”. Futureproof won the PPI for Best Specialist Speech Programme in 2012, won silver in 2013 and was also selected for the prestigious International Media Award The Science Studio.!

Jonathan also presents The Science Squad for RTE 1, a 6-part TV series looking at cutting edge science in Ireland. The second series aired in November of 2013 and the third series is currently in post-production. He will also be returning to TV3 with his hugely successful prime-time quiz show The Lie this October.

Jonathan has also writes about science and has contributed to both The Irish Times and The Irish Independent.!

As part of his role as a science communicator, Jonathan has hosted and produced a wide range of events for clients such as the Science Gallery,Electric Picnic, Midlands Science Festival, Thesis In 3, Famelab and most recently The Festival of Curiosity with his own show Curious Futures.

Formats of live events have included street science, a one-night film festival, talks and even a live lunchtime Dalmatian necropsy, which was interesting.!!1
